TED, is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.
Three young professionals who work as faculty in our university, a Psychologist, a dentist and an engineer, will be speaking about their researches and presenting their work in their field of interest to motivate the audience and help build the community to follow their paths. They will focus their speeches in topics relevant to the audience, our students, talking about their innovations; energy solution to remote areas of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, how to create a service experience in dentistry and how social media is impacting people’s lives.
